From Ranch to Rodeo: Our Journey

Big Water Pro Rodeo was founded in 2022 by Seth and Megan Louthan and our family, carrying on a deep-rooted passion for rodeo, ranching, and the Western way of life.

Seth has been immersed in rodeo and ranching his entire life—helping his father as a kid, competing as a PRCA bronc rider, and later becoming a respected pickup man. For over 20 years, he has dedicated himself to raising top-tier bucking bulls, and in 2009, we expanded into breeding elite bucking horses. Our dedication to breeding excellence has been recognized at the highest levels, with multiple bulls and horses selected for the Southeastern Circuit Finals, including the 2022 Bareback Horse of the Circuit Finals, the 2024 Bareback Horse of the Year and the Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year and in 2021, one of our bulls made it to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas.

As a lifelong rancher, Seth believes, “The best way to get the genetics you want in cattle or horses is to raise them yourself.”

Beyond livestock breeding, Seth has played a key role in rodeo production for years, providing stock, serving as a pickup man, and helping at numerous Southeastern Circuit rodeos. He has also served on the Okeechobee Cattlemen’s Association Board of Directors for 22 years, currently holding the titles of Rodeo Committee Co-Chairman.

At Big Water Pro Rodeo, we don’t just produce rodeos—we live and breathe the ranching, rodeo, and cowboy way of life every day. And we intend to keep it that way for generations to come.
